Clothing exchanges (and consignment) have always been my go-to for updating my closet and getting rid of older stuff, or just the stuff I don’t wear anymore. But beyond that, recycling old clothing is an eco-friendly alternative to just throwing it away (and it pays). My clothes don’t have that much sentimental value to me so I don’t have any issues getting rid of them, although I’ve seen some of my friends really agonize over the process of throwing away old clothes.
I always look at each item and think, “when was the last time I wore this?” If it’s been more than a few months, why haven’t I worn it?
